Guide
Planning a corporate shoot
A tower shoot is one of the best client-entertainment days there is: outdoors, social, memorable, and nobody has to be good at it. Here's how to plan one that goes smoothly.
Budget
Plan on $290–$400 per gun for a public-date shoot with meals, or $6,500–$12,000 to buy out a private day for 16–50 guns. Gratuities for guides and dog handlers run 10–20%.
Timing
Southeast preserve season is October–March — prime corporate dates (Oct–Dec Fridays) book out by late summer. Texas preserves can run year-round, which makes them the play for spring and summer events.
Ask your operator
- Are you licensed and insured? (Every KickAndShoot listing is — ask anyway.)
- Loaner guns and ammo for guests who don't shoot?
- Non-shooter activities — clays, fishing, spectating?
- Meals, bar, and lodging on site?
- Bird cleaning and packaging for guests to take home?
The day, roughly
Coffee and a safety briefing, morning shoot (tower flights or walk-up hunts), a long lunch, optional afternoon clays or a second flight, then birds packed to go. Most groups are done by 3 p.m.
